Baby Boy Card
Good day to you!
Thanks for stopping by today. My project for today is a baby boy card.
This couple were having their third child, and after two lovely daughters they were surprised with a baby boy. I wanted to make a card that wasn't just a congrats on the new baby, but one that was definitely for a baby boy. I also personalised it.
I made a matching envelope too.
I used my Boy stamp to create the title of the card. I used a charcoal ink on a pale blue paper and fussy cut around it. I added it on top of a couple of pieces of blue patterned paper.
I used a pre made blue bassinet embellishment, but stitched on a metal charm of the new baby's initial.
I added a layer of white lace for softness, as well as a strip of the same blue patterned paper from the top of the page. I finished it off with a bit of bling in the form if gold sequins, which tie in with the yellow of the blanket inside the bassinet embellishment.
The whole card front is then sewn onto a white card base.
Nice and easy to make but very effective and cute.
Hand made cards are so special. They don't need to be difficult to make, and are easy to personalise for the recipient which makes them even more loved.
See you next week,
