Crafty Kid layout #2
Hi there crafty friends,
Today I have a special project for you!
For a few months now I have been watching YouTube videos by Missy Whidden, and been really inspired by them - her style, her messy backgrounds, her tangled thread. I have started to incorporate a little of her style on my pages. Last week I was watching her latest video upload, loving it as usual, and my son came over and watched it with me. As soon as the video finished he asked for a piece of cardstock and went off to his desk and started on a layout!
She did a watercolour background, and then did a hand drawn and hand cut title. This is Master 8's layout:
He started with doing watercolour paint splatters on his background in red, blue and yellow.
He then did layers behind his photo, which turned out to be in relatively matching colours.
He then handed me some patterned papers one at a time to create a hand drawn and hand cut title. He choose the title, the patterned papers and the size of the letters, while I did the drawing and cutting.
He then finished off his page with a yellow star to the top right of his photo which creates the perfect visual triangle in yellow.
He doesn't know about any of the design 'rules' that we follow as seasoned crafters, and he came up with this gorgeous layout. Another proud mummy moment. I love his page and I love that he just went off and did it all on his own after being inspired by a YouTube video.
Until next week,
